Primary Role of the Wabtec Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is  involved in ensuring the proper functioning, upkeep, and repair of various equipment, machinery, and systems within the manufacturing plant. The are responsible for adhering to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plan facilities equipment
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience 

  • Requires a high school diploma/GED or 2 years related work experience.
  • Specialized equipment used in this job
  • Operation of light and heavy equipment
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Ability to cooperate and interpersonal skills to work effectively as a team member.
